I apologize in advance for stirring up a hornet's nest, but a branch of the LinuxCNC project has been created called machinekit. It is mostly aimed at the ARM processors such as the Beagle Bone. it works quite well on the $55 Beagle Bone Black computer. You can attach an LCD screen directly, or log in over the network or USB from a laptop or other computer. The 200 MHz microcontrollers built into the CPU chip do a very good job of step pulse generation, almost as good as a hardware step generator, and WAY better than software step generation.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for. Jon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
