Do you use Z or W for the tool-length in your tool table?

I don't have a machine to experiment with (I am at work) but I could
imagine that a Z-offset is applied in cartesian space, but a W-offset
from the tool table won't be, it will just appear on the
motion.tooloffset.w pin.
