Hi Ron, Thanks for the correction. It is only a requirement to keep the Declaration of Conformity on file assuming that the option of self-declaration is used and the product has been demonstrated to meet all of the harmonized standards applicable to the product.
If anyone has any further info or corrections, I'd like to hear them. I do keep a "technical file" (my nomenclature) with our EU rep to back up our declarations, should anyone ask. The file is a complete set of test reports showing compliance with harmonized standards. I believe you mean a Technical Construction File (TCF). A TCF can be used in lieu of meeting specific EMC Directive requirements through the acceptance of a Notified Body. If I'm wrong, please correct me. One would think that authorities can request IMMEDIATE proof, in which case several days would seem to be more reasonable still. This would not really appear to be anything extraordinary. " The law requires the following: 1. Within 1-5 days: To be able to present a DoC to French authorities 2. Within 8 days: To be able to show successful test reports" Can anyone answer the following: 1. Is this a FRENCH only requirement - or for ALL EU counties 2. If so what law is being referenced... Thank you.
