Moshe,

Actually the Machinery Directive is not a standard, only a directive. You
need to find the equivalent UL standard for the applicable performance based
standards that were used to satisfy the Machinery Directive. In addition to
the directive the DoC should list these. Then look for the correct UL
standard.

Subject: UL equivalent to the Machinery Directive?

Hello everyone,

I have a product which was CE marked for safety according to the machinery
directive. What
would the UL equivalent be?

The product is a semi manual inspection station, used by an operator at a
PCB (bare board)
manufacturer plant. The PC panel is placed on an automatically moving stage
(accessible to
the opeator) and the operator is presented with failure locations.

Would the UL3101 be applicable?

thanks in advance
Moshe
