Some time ago, I downloaded a program called ScanFont. Sounds like the kind of thing you are talking about, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I missplaceded the file in the meantime, but you should be able to find it on the Internet. BTW, what you have in mind is not a trivial project ... Cheers, Egon
