Thanks to all in the group that contributed comments to my question! I
presented the question to try and give our customer an idea on what the
industry thought and that's exactly what happened.
One further comment: There seems to be a common opinion that EN 61326
excludes class "A" equipment from the harmonics & flicker tests. I don't
think that is correct, both EN 61326 and the harmonics & flicker standards
are "product family" standards and carry equal weight. My understanding is
that the harmonics and flicker standards apply to any equipment with an
input current up to 16A. EN 61000-3-2 & EN 61000-3-3 would apply as
product family standards to class "A" equipment as well.
