The requirement is defined in the following:
EN60730-1 clause 7.2.1, table 7. item 17 (L, N & earth symbol required)
EN60950 clause 1.7.7.1 (earth symbol); 1.7.7.2 (N)
EN61010-1 - no requirement (as far as I can see at a quick glance)
EN61558-1 - clause 8.6 (N and earth symbol)
EN60204-1 - Clause 5.1 (N and PE, and/or earth symbol: complex requirement)
EN60335-1 - clause 7.8 (N and earth symbol)
EN60065 - clause 5.2a (earth symbol)
EN60598-1 clause 3.2.12 (live only, if it matters for safety)
Contrary to what was said in another post, the marking is generally
required on even cord connected appliances, unless the appliance is
of such a construction that it is impossible for the user or a
service agent to replace the mains cord.

Hi Group,
Does anyone know the clause or statement that identifies "L" for
Line voltage and "N" for Neutral A.C. mains marking in the LVD or
any EU standard published? I need to provide proof for our
engineering team.
