There is a name for that type of steel here in the states, can't recall what it is though. A former employer switched to that stuff in certain parts of the product lines. I did not like it very much because of the sharp edges nobody wants to grind/polish for fear of opening up more untreated surface and because of rust on the edges and wherever a scratch would appear. Another thing I did not like was that is seemed to show up fingerprints from handling. Finally I always had questions about the reliability of the surface finish with regard to grounding, both for safety as well as for EMC. Anybody know about that particular issue?

"pre-plated" sheet steel in IT equipment metalwork ?
Typically such material is cheaper to use than
having to plate parts after they have been produced,
but there may be issues with sharp edges produced
when the material is punched out, and with rust on
the edges which are not protected.
