The products are 'taken into service', so the Directives apply. You
MIGHT, in some countries, be able to argue that they are not 'in free
circulation', but most countries probably won't accept that. 

What matters, and what you don't say, is the degree of commonality
between the 50 products, even though they all differ. You can use the
Technical Construction File route for EMC, based on a selected 'worst-
case' product and statements of the variation. However, there is no such
short-cut under the LVD, for obvious reasons. OTOH, depending on the
nature of the product, you may be able to have one sample third-party
tested and self-certify the others on the basis of that.

This is the sort of situation where a good consultant could save you
more than the consultancy fee, but I'm not bidding for the job.
