I have to agree with John Tyra on this one. In this day of
globally deployed products, not getting a CB Scheme
Certificate and Test Report would be the exception, rather
than the rule, if minimizing expenses and time to market are
desirable. It's far easier on budget, time, shipping
expenses, customs headaches and inventory destruction, if
all possible national and group differences are addressed in
one go.

On the other hand, there are still region specific products
where a CB evaluation has little or no value. Most of my
work for customers is not in this category.

I don't know what type of product you are trying to put a
plan together for
but I would highly recommend you get a CB certification and
report for the
products especially if you are planning to sell in the Far
East. The CB
certification will help you with Singapore, Korea, China
approvals and limit
the amount of retesting................
I would have to disagree with the involvement of a CB unless
there was a REQUIREMENT to do so..

Instead, invest your resources in understanding and
complying with the harmonised standards aplicable to your
Product.
