Dear John, Could you please advise what OSM decision is.
"ANY TV, with or without a PC mode, is a 'multimedia' product, because it falls within the definition adopted by IEC TC100" is new to me and probably new to TV (both CRT & flat panel) manufacturer's industry. I always receive test reports and CE compliant certificates from ITS, TUV, SGS and others, and all tested to EN60065. Until recently, LCD/PDP TVs become popular and the debating of EN60065 & EN60950 begins. Could you please give me some background information and detail on the TV to be classified as multimedia product. Thanks and regards, Raymond Li OSA Ltd. The Guide doesn't go into details, and the devil is in the details. ANY TV, with or without a PC mode, is a 'multimedia' product, because it falls within the definition adopted by IEC TC100. So is a sound radio, which is really a 'monomedium' product. We really need a revised Guide 112 that takes account of the snags that have been discovered in trying to apply 60950 to '60065' products (and vice versa, if anyone ever did that). But if no National Committee makes such a proposal, it won't happen. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only. http://www.jmwa.demon.co.uk Interested in professional sound reinforcement and distribution?
