Chris, Please be aware that I speak here of general safety principles and not what is required specifically by EN 60065...

Presumably, if the fuse were to be replaced by one of an incorrect value then the consequence (in the event of a fault in the equipment, of course) would be some sort of hazard? If the effect of replacing the fuse with an incorrect type would be damaged equipment but not a safety hazard, then you are talking performance and not safety. You do not say if your non-IEC 60127 fuse is accessible by end-users or not, or is replaceable without a tool or not. This maters because when a fuse can only be replaced by a service person (because of its location or because you need a soldering iron etc) it is generally considered likely that the service person will check the service manual for details of the correct type and rating; and then fit the correct type. However, if the fuse can be fitted by a user then a higher degree of information is needed - hence the need to mark the value next to the fuse. I hope that if nothing else the above has provided you with a touchstone by which you can judge your situation.
