The Earth's field in UK is about 100 microtesla. When you car is moving,
you are moving through that field, which varies somewhat even on a small
scale. So it's not a purely constant field. We have *evolved* in fields
of that range of strengths.

I guess that it's not allowed to run from east to west in Sweden.
