County govt building that had 15 cases of a *very* rare form of brain cancer. Hiraldo covered one of the deaths discussing with the widow on his TV show. Atty Dick Alexander, represented the widow also appeared on that show. I spoke to the investigating California epidemiologist who told me that this form of cancer is not actually rare, but mortality from the slow growing cancer is what is rare. She claimed a lot of people have it after the age of 65, or so, but just don't die from it. She felt something had "accellerated" the cancer in so many people. She was really leaning towards emf since (to her) that could be a mechanism that did not cause cancer, but sped it up. [Keep in mind that Paul Brodeur's articles had just appeared then] Now the investigation was pretty thorough. Luckily this building had two wings, built at the same time, built of the same materials, and air ducted to the same central location for heating and cooling, yet all the cancers occurred in the west wing only. They checked materials, emf fields, everything they could think of. They even measured the EMF from the local airport's radar. They found absolutely no discernible differences inside the building between the two wings to justify the rash of deaths. I suggested they look at... There used to be high tension towers along the roadway next to the west wing. Many of the people who worked in the west wing parked under those towers to walk across the street to their offices. Doubt if anybody working in the other wing ever parked there, too far away. Getting in and out of their cars they would be subjected to large swings in ac fields and transients. The exposure [external to the building] to these fields might be the only difference between the two buildings, but NO GOVT AGENCY, or private agency, would fund a simple research into that exposure. About this same time the convenient parking area was fenced off preventing anyone from parking there. Later the high tension towers have been replaced with underground transission lines as part of the Guadalupe corridor beautification plan. Who knows.
