cool device. An EMP device like this can generate a 1-2 gW pulse, or so I have
read. Given 50 kV across a dipole you will get 35 megawatts. Directed with a
gain of 10 dBi this will give 2000 V/m at 50 meters. Is this enough to stop
automobile electronics?

Most Esteemed EMC Gurus, 

First post from a long-time suscriber.  Subject is automotive EMC and the
intentional disruption of microprocessors in automobiles to disable vehicles,
presumably during chases.  In an article in the Guardian (UK newspaper), Dr.
Giri describes his newly invented device; the article is at

Knowing the lengths that the automotive EMC community goes to to prevent this
exact effect, and having been involved in similar "pursuits" of my own, I have
my doubts, but am interested in the opinions of others.  Has Dr. Giri found a
back-door path into automotive microprocessors?
