I think you are probably correct, but I honestly can't remember whether the requirement is BOTH self-extinquishing & burn-rate, or just one. However, I am wondering who you talked to at UL? They have a customer service department that is supposed to be able to answer that sort of stuff now, or at least know how to look up the answer. Also, if this is done as part of an ongoing UL evaluation, you may want to check with your UL project engineer to make sure it is ONLY UL 94 you are subject to. UL requirements for materials (like tubing & plastics in general) can vary by application, and you can easily find yourself in a different set of requirements than you originally thought. I am not that familiar with tubing, but I know there is a big leap when you go from a Recognized insulating tape and Recognized magnet wire, to a Recognized insulation system, but you can find yourself making that leap just because your transformer coils got hotter than you anticipated. -Camille Good Portland, Oregon McInturff Gary <[email protected]> wrote: Tried asking UL but no response.
