Tried asking UL but no response.
I have a special type of tubing that I am have manufacture red to UL94HB -40 and I am having a small hang-up with the acceptance criteria. Must the material be self extinguishing or is it just that the burn rate must be less than 40mm/min. The material is <= 3mm. I think the correct answer is OR condition – self extinguish before 100 mm OR have a burn rate < 40mm. The wrong interpretation, I think is the AND condition – self extinguish before 100 mm AND a burn rate < 40 mm Does anybody have the actual UL 94 or the IEC burn specification?
