Any method to differentiate between the two materials should be
based upon measuring some characteristic where the difference between the
materials seems to be large. Any mechanical, electrical or thermal property
should work. You have received several suggestions.
As you mentioned, a quick, non-destructive test seems best. Are the parts
identified into lots or groups enough so that acceptance or rejection of a
sample could apply to the entire group? Or do you need to be able to identify
the acceptability of any single part?
Will you want to institute your own ongoing inspection – their outgoing or
your incoming – to ensure acceptability of parts delivered in the future?
All of these things should be entered into your decision as to how to move
ahead on this.
