If you don't document your verification process, shame on you.<<< Agreed that software should be verified and documented, but I absolutely disagree that ANY COTS software are exempt from being proven. I've seen so many problems with poorly written TILE profiles and instrument drivers that I will always run verifications to make sure things are working like they should, and the numbers all add up. If I use a previously verified profile but change an instrument, I verify it again. And I always make final maximized measurements manually since I have yet to see an automated procedure take into account all the possibilities.

It is also quite obvious that some have their own "pet peeves", and I would go further to say that it is not possible to cover all aspects in a single audit, one would have to go through several audits with different auditors before all aspects have been covered. As far as providing feedback, the "power tripping" auditor previously mentioned had feedback submitted to the accrediting agency basically saying "never again". This happened at a lab were I previously worked (about 13 years ago) and at the lab were I presently work (about 2 years ago). Let me reiterate that I do NOT think negatively of audits or auditors. I look foward to audits.
