Well by lack of real gold,
any of us prefer gold-plating isn't it ?

I do not oblige my customers this
test for compliance, but most understand the
relevance, and prefer a technical better
product above the slight increase
of compliance costs.
Hey what the heck, there is more in
EMC testing then just following
standards and legal requirements !!

Formally, you are 'gold-plating' the standard - extending beyond its
internationally-agreed requirements. You should make a proposal to amend

the standard in accordance with your view, so that it can be tested in
the proper forum.

Gold plating per se is not acceptable, and it must not be allowed to
grow unchecked. It results in differences in acceptability between
different regulatory authorities and, above all, it gives a license to
test houses to steeply increase test fees.
