Not 'all' other EMC standards. CISPR 22 adopts the North American approach, rather than the European. Those differences have many legitimate causes: - no LF broadcasting in N America; - a very different transmitter infra-structure, mostly relatively short-range in N America, mostly country-wide and beyond in Europe; - much less spectrum congestion in the MF band in N America. The proper question in this case is not whether limits set more than 30 years ago (50 years in some cases) are met by modern products, but whether they are still justified. Products meeting only Class A limits ARE in use in homes in Europe. Is the level of interference complaints due to them unacceptable? It is widely known in the EMC world that certain PLT modems sold for home use in Europe have conducted emissions greatly exceeding the CISPR 22 limits. Are they causing floods of complaints of interference? I know that some radio amateurs have detected them, but then they can detect a 1 mW transmitter 20000 km away. (;-) -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
