But maybe that laser printer with another EUT would not produce such a 
large emission. Three is no practicable way to tell.

I think it is a problem. If I test my peripheral product with an old 
computer, but the market surveillance authorities test it with a modern 
one and it fails (maybe 20 dB over the limit!), the very least problem I 
have is to convince the authorities that my testing was sufficient to 
meet the requirements of the Directive.

But how do you know, if a peripheral can pass with one computer but fail 
with another? That problem would disappear if we had a 'reference 
computer' for compliance testing. Incidentally, its development might 
throw some light on why there can be such a large variation between one 
combination of computer and peripheral and another.
