Sudhakar,
Could you explain more about the link between IEC60950-1 and CE marking. I can't quite see why the battery would be CE marked for product safety. Here's what I am working from. Perhaps I am missing something. 1. 60950-1 on its own does not require CE marking. 2. 60950-1 is listed to the LVD. 3. I would not expect a Laptop (or any of its components, such a batteries) to be considered in scope of the LVD because of its input voltage limit. 4. The power supply bundled with a laptop probably is in scope of the LVD, but it can be addressed separately. 5. Likewise if a laptop battery is placed separately on the market as a product, its voltage probably does not bring it into scope of the LVD. Is EMC part of that CE Mark? Are there any EMC standards/requirements for smart batteries?
