I don't know about such things but recently our company was asked to sign an agreement with a local NRTL office that we work with. The agreement is a long list of items the NRTL would not be responsible for from damaging a million dollar prototype device or causing a virus getting loose on your corporate network and everything in between.
The nature of the type of work we do demands that your company and employees are protected from litigation for a long list of things that could happen. Also, we have customers on location during testing and you never know what they might do. If I had my own company I would seek advice from a good corporate lawyer and insurance company to get what you need and not what you don't need. What would you suggest for coverage, and should test engineers have professional liability insurance? Thank you!
