Dear all, Just one comment to use of such filter. Most of the filters are approved up to 2000m, what cannot be seen from the datasheet. If you design a product for altitude above 2000m, additional investigation of the filter is required. This is sometimes hard task.

It's worth trying, since a custom design is ruled out. In my case, they found two of the transformers on the shelf of 'old products'. They had a smaller product in the current catalogue, but, as in your case, my budget wouldn't run to that. I didn't know that US marines run on batteries. I assumed it was hydrazine. But here the customer is expecting to pay maybe $5 US max for a filter, and this product being a marine battery charger, is not going to be high volume, so I don't feel comfortable asking for a custom design. You could try contacting the filter manufacturers directly, if you haven't done that already. Maybe one of the smaller, 'try harder' outfits would be more willing to help. Many manufacturers have products that they made in the past but don't advertise. I won out on a costly transformer that way; admittedly it was 'negotiated' over beer, but resulted in a $100 part for free.
