Bingo! (I believe), lp0 is being held by lp.  Unload (modprobe -r lp) it 
and see if that helps.  If it does, I would grep thru the 
/etc/udev.d/rules.d drectory and comment out any lines that reference lp, 
so you don't have to do that after every bootup.  Or one may be able to 
blacklist it in one of the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist files, which should 
also get the job done. 

I have found that the correct cups setup will allow you to use the printers 
attached to other machines on your local network. If you can see these 
other printers with a browser looking at http://localhost:631, they should 
work.  It might take adjustments in the /etc/cups directory on both the 
server and the client to do this.
