I just got a mesa 5i25
I have successfully used this computer, motherboard K8T890, for almost 2 years
to run my table top mill
If I plug the 5i25 in it does not show up in the hardware list
When the pc boots, part of the post is a screen showing all installed hardware
The 5i25 is not in that list
When the pc is fully booted the 5i25 does not show up in dmesg or lspci
I have looked through the bios settings and found nothing related
In the bios there is a icon to change to factory defaults, I did and it did not
help
I have tried other cards and they work ok
There are a number of jumpers on the 5i25 and I have not changed them
Any suggestions

Did You try starting LinuxCNC with 5i25 plugged in?

no

Take any 5i23 sample config, but in INI file change the name of card
and remove the part of the "config" line, which tells the path to
firmware to be loaded.

I just guess that LinuxCNC / Hostmot2 firmware still might find the
card and work with it.

I ordered the card with PROB_RFX2 firmware to drive a probotix controller
I am not 100% sure but I thought I would only need to change the addresss in my
ini file
But if it does not show up i do not know the address, right
Peter Wallace at mesa thinks it may be incompatable or faulty motherboard
I am just throwing it out there for the crowd before it goes in the box of good
ideas that did not work
