The first choice in couplings for servo driven mechanism that demand zero backlash and high torque capacity always seem to be the bellows couplings now. Everything else seems to be less desirable.
I have seen them used in some extreme applications - like high speed index table drives and they hold up well. If you do a google search for "bellows coupling" you can see the ones I have used. The R+W and the Rulands are good. I have never used Lovejoy bellows couplings. Some of them can cost $200 or more, but if you shop around I suspect you can find them for a lot less.
