I won't use helical beam couplings on anything. As said previously -
they snap all too easily and if you have any backlash, they wind up and
you may never get the full linear movement if there is any resistance.

I snapped one on my router in less than 5 minutes and threw that and the
other two in the scrap :)

I too like Oldham couplings - I've made a few sleeves that fit the
common coupling OD's - they make initial lining up easy for mounting
motors or ballscrews. If the alignment is good they last many hundreds
of hours too.
