I think the hazard with Lexan is much less "it catches fire easily"
and much more "if you finally get it burning, the smoke is toxic".

If you laid the sheet flat on the lathe bed and piled it with blue hot
chips you might have a fire hazard.  Located vertically where the
chips will bounce off, even red hot ones should be no problem.
(And I doubt your lathe will be making red hot chips.)
