Gene - I have a 17" touch screen monitor above my lathe on an adjustable TV/Monitor arm. I'm a short arse at 5ft 6 inch and have it so I can reach it from my normal working position stood near the head stock. It has no shield and I've yet to damage it. If your chips are coming off right they fire right towards your face and some go down the front of your shirt. They don't go up and back ;) BTW - I often take roughing cuts at 0.3inch DOC at 2000 rpm at 20ipm in steel - chips come off pretty hot :) Steve Blackmore -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Precog is a next-generation analytics platform capable of advanced analytics on semi-structured data.
