I know with mine, when soft-stepping, when the "Update Manager" started up, the mill would get a "following error".
Sometimes moving the mouse across a screen boundary would also give one. Saying that, had my little unimat lathe running at a show all weekend end of August, and only once did the "following error" show its head, despite having to reboot because the power went down too many times to count. The lathe just ran a canned program for hours (no turning of material, just carriage moving) and it seemed more than happy.
