Greetings;

In getting the end of the screw down to fit in an 8mm hole, the bearing
boss, I have about 2 thou of the bottom of the original ball groove left.
I am thinking that means its still harder that the hubs of ---.

Correct?

I haven't determined exactly where I need to thread it for the jam nuts
that will adjust the end play, and probably won't know until the bearings
get here, and I decide how long that backup washer on the inside will be.

I don't want to remove the screw from the chuck and then try to recenter it
again, so I am essentially sitting here waiting on the bearings.

I can turn it on down to 7mm, which should get me thru much of the hard
face, making it a lot easier to cut the thread as the bottom of the thread
groove for a 7mm.5 nut is still above 6.35mm/0.250" for the motor coupling.

Unforch, while the 7mm.5 nut is listed in the books, I haven't found any
for sale on the web. Is that essentially a dead item these days?

Cheers, Gene
