Turn it down for a 6mm thread. 

I always use BK or FK type end mounts, they only use 1 nut to adjust end
float and preload the screw. It's drilled though with a locking screw
and pad onto the thread.

See ebay items #321036123767 and #321036123861 as examples.

The smallest housing they do has 10mm bearing bore, but I have used them
on 8mm screws. Just made a sleeve, loctite'd on to turned down screw,
left 24hrs then trued up to screw OD in lathe then threaded the end.
