Thats too small for my motor couplings, they are 1/4" to 1/4", eg 6.35mm.
So 7mm.5 is as small as I can go. 8mm is even better. So I'll waste an
insert trying for 8mm.75 threads. Adding the set screw, with a small lead
shot for padding against the threads, is something I've planned already.

The first one resembles the anchoring for the 16mm5 screw used as the Z on
the lathe, 12mm bore and I had yet to get all the end play out of it even
though I have extra shims between the bearings outer races. Poorly made,
so I still have about .0015" of end play. 20 thou better than the OEM screw
& half nut, but still...

What I am using here is the OEM bearing casting, with its wide spaced
mounting ears, using extended bolts and spacers so its also the motor mount
plate holder. I can adjust those for zero end play AND they'll hold the
motor too.

I already have the ball bearing thrust washers in another set of them, on
the existing ACME screws that will be coming out. That was by machining the
inside cavity out to the OD of the washers, and doing the same counterbore
on the outside face, about a thou shallower than the washer stack. They are
also drilled & tapped for grease fittings. These will be too when they are
done.

Thanks Steve.
