Now is a good time to familiarize yourself with the halscope. Find out 
what it can tell you.

Also, for rolling the spindle slowly, put a halmeter on that rawcounts 
signal, it should count up when rolling forward, and down when rolling 
backwards, if thats backwards, interchange the a & b wires.
