I might point out that SSD's pricing are getting very competitive. I've been running 2 of my machines on 60GB SSD's, which are about 3 to 4x faster than spinning rust. Now 120GB's are under 50 bucks. And they are quicker than stink with read rates of 250 megs/second and up. You'' think a 10 yo Dell is a brand new machine. Being aware that they will fail at some point due to write wear, I'd expect the 120's will outlast the 60 by a factor of 4 or so, and the first "60" is 300.5 days old running in the Dell that runs my G0704. Smartctl says no re-allocated sectors yet, pretty good for what is now a $30 drive from newegg. And running the G0704, I'm using only 29% of its 64GB, so I've buckets of room to play in yet. I have 2 on the r-pi, a 64GB and 120+ GB, using them for kernel building workspaces. I might have $70 in them. > On 8/23/2018 10:00 PM, Chris Albertson wrote: > > Swap out the HD?
