I might point out that SSD's pricing are getting very competitive. I've 
been running 2 of my machines on 60GB SSD's, which are about 3 to 4x 
faster than spinning rust. Now 120GB's are under 50 bucks. And they are 
quicker than stink with read rates of 250 megs/second and up. You'' 
think a 10 yo Dell is a brand new machine.  Being aware that they will 
fail at some point due to write wear, I'd expect the 120's will outlast 
the 60 by a factor of 4 or so, and the first "60" is 300.5 days old 
running in the Dell that runs my G0704. Smartctl says no re-allocated 
sectors yet, pretty good for what is now a $30 drive from newegg.

And running the G0704, I'm using only 29% of its 64GB, so I've buckets of 
room to play in yet.

I have 2 on the r-pi, a 64GB and 120+ GB, using them for kernel building 
workspaces. I might have $70 in them.
