I believe I bought my initial set of TT Tools and R8 Collect (marked 19.05 R8) 
from LittleMachineShop,com.  The photo in this link shows how the R8 collet is 
flat.

Back then mine didn't come with grooves for the tool changer even though they 
are marked Tormach.  There was an offer to return them for grinding the groove 
but shipping and the border made that a non-starter.  I have since bought a set 
of 5 collet holders from the far east that also fit.  However they have a much 
smaller shoulder and also wouldn't really fit a tool changer.

If you look at this tool holder you can see there is a recess that clears even 
the little bit that the R8 collet sticks out.

One day I really need to order a few more drill chucks so I can hold more than 
one drill bit.
