Gene I cant find units comp either, nor can google so far, So write one List all the pins connected to it ( by browsing .hal) then look ar http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/config/python-interface.html#_linuxcnc_stat_attributes especially program_units (returns integer) - one of CANON_UNITS_INCHES=1, CANON_UNITS_MM=2, CANON_UNITS_CM=3 if the comp only returns imperial/metric this may be easy hth tomp
