I used halshow to temporarily change the sserial error-lim parameter. Then I 
set a watch on the error counter and I didn’t see it move.
It appears that I don’t get any SSerial errors. Is my test valid?

For confirmation on your assessment of the noise levels, here is a look at the 
voltage on the differential signals.
