Hi Pln,
Most of these unethical activities are a result of lack of honesty and rampant corruption. I too believe that nepotism and corruption are the biggest problems faced by India, which is one of the most corrupt nations of the world. 1. Because of nepotism, misuse of power by political leaders and bureaucrats, and rampant bribery, talented and hard-working people are deprived of good opportunities and inefficient, corrupt and incapable persons occupy important positions. 2. The state of Labour laws is very poor. Most work-force is over- worked and under-paid. The owners and management deprive employees of facilities like provident fund, pension and medical insurance. Most other things, that are problems in other countries, are not problems in our country, like claiming extra expenses, using work facilities for for private purposes, taking extended lunch breaks etc. because one never gets more than 15 minutes for lunch. Moreover, in the private sector, while on paper you are supposed to work for 8 hours a day, you are made to work for atleast 12 hours. You are always paid less than the actual expenses and denied even gazetted or national holidays. Sometimes, you are made to work even on Sundays. The government employees, on the other hand, don't work at all. If you want to get anything done, pay a bribe. thanks and regards anu --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "English Learner's Cafe" group.
