Dear all,

What I'm about to share with you is going to be a little strange for
some of you.

As you all may have observed that Nepotism is usually a bad conduct in
most developing countries, but as far as I know,a well-known Swedish
furniture retailer IKEA has encouraged its world employees to
recommend their families, friends or relatives to join its operation
and benefited a great deal from this controversial policy.

They are not alone on this policy as the Canadian telecommunications
company Nortel has been doing the same,at least until 2006.

I myself still have trouble seeing and working with so many relatives
of the higher-ups who aren't competent at their jobs...
Trust me,even where I work, everybody knows why some are more equal
than others...And unless they themselves feel the shame of taking over
somebody else's jobs,no one can do anything about it...

I suppose NEPOTISM is as old as POLITICS or PROSTITUTION which means
this problem will never go away as long as we humans don't see
anything wrong with it and allow it to happen!:(

As for the 15-minute break,it is the same in Poland! But it isn't
necessarily because they don't have the break room to have their
dinner,it's because they'd rather finish their 8-hour working day
earlier,so they can go straight home and spend their private time
doing whatever they enjoy among their families and friends. No one here
seems to complain about this policy at all!

In Taipei people usually have 1 to 1.5 hours lunch break. They either
eat out with their colleagues or have their lunch delivered to their
offices. After a casual lunch, they can return to their office and have
a short nap at their desks before they start their afternoon's work
refreshed!;)

It's sad for me to read about how superiors in India treat their
subordinates!;(
Sadly to say, employees in Poland aren't that well treated, either!

How nice it would be if all employers in the world knew that employees
are their best assets.Without them, they won't be prosperous or have
profitable renenues...

Great week ahead of us all.
