I guess this depends more on how much it will take to get Lua up. The more Lua takes to be done (or at least, the more time Lua is in Edje, available to be used), the more time people have to move up and start using it, and less time of "embryo secondary support" will be needed. Regarding maintanence, I don't think adding new features to Embryo will be something needed, so keeping it as is shouldn't be a problem.
