average users don't know what formatstrings are in strftime() to tclock is
useless to them. thats why providing the necessary "show a date" thing is
there. you can get pedantic at "but its not my favorite date format" all you
like - the feature is there. you can see dates. as for "users cant theme" -
that's the point - instead of writing a whole new module - make a THEME and let
people choose it just for the clock. there is no need for tclock as a MODULE -
as CODE.

the last reason people wanted tclock is for date display - that is now there.
the rest is styling in theme.
