"we can add random formats one at a time to the code" is not the same functionality as "user can use whatever format they want". It's not ALL the functionality, so you can't say that. Leaving stuff up to the theme is not helping users who can't theme, and also not the same functionality. And I'm not the only one still using tclock, so it's not just me being pedantic. Other people want things that are not in clock. If tclock functionality was added to clock, then I'd only use clock, and likely so would the other tclock users. Right now I use both, coz neither has the full functionality of the other. It's on my TODO list to deal with that, but it's really low priority for me, and I got lots of other stuff to deal with first. What you are saying is that cars are stupid coz motorbikes provide all the core functionality. If you really want a car, weld two motorbikes together and carry an umbrella. Not actually useful advice to people that can't weld. :-P -- A big old stinking pile of genius that no one wants coz there are too many silver coated monkeys in the world.
