Just to make it clear, such information was added to ephysics README on Sept, after discussion on IRC. http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/changeset/76151 Most probably it was missed in the merge. Anyway, it's now pretty well explained with r82221, I hope this is enough to avoid people trying to use autotools to build bullet.
