Yes, I have xdg-utils installed.

I have icons missing? :) My desktop just seems to show /home/toby at the 
moment. I have done some configuring of my system tray if that is what you 
mean.

Where did you install from? Source? I'd really like to stay under the wing 
of a package manager if possible!
