Jason,

Have your root bridge priority = 4096 and your backup root bridge priority =
8192. All others can be left as default.

The root and backup should be in the core of the network. If you have dual
routers running vrrp then you should make the VRRP Master the same device as
the root bridge (also do it per MSTP instance if used).

Use the same STP protocol for all devices (MSTP uses RSTP anyway so if not
using I'd MSTP keep it as MSTP and just don't configure any SIDs).

I'm sure the GTAC can help they're a great bunch of people.

Subject: Re: [enterasys] Multiple Spanning Tree Issues

Hello All,

I will try to respond to all of you:

Darrin - The K6 that we want to be the root bridge has its priority set to 0

Geoff - Using the MSTP info Flexview in Netsight shows all of the switches are
using the same config name. I know that MSTP is enabled by default, but we are
not using it. Thinking of turning back to Rapid Spanning Tree.

Jason - We have a flat network, all switches on same vlan

I am now working with GTAC to resolve this issue.
