Jason, Have your root bridge priority = 4096 and your backup root bridge priority = 8192. All others can be left as default.
The root and backup should be in the core of the network. If you have dual routers running vrrp then you should make the VRRP Master the same device as the root bridge (also do it per MSTP instance if used). Use the same STP protocol for all devices (MSTP uses RSTP anyway so if not using I'd MSTP keep it as MSTP and just don't configure any SIDs).
