On my 300 MHz iBook, with 1700+ contacts, when I type a name into the "Name
contains" box, it takes about four seconds to find it. When I first open
Entourage, and (I presume) the Address Book has not yet been read from disk,
it can take ten or twelve seconds.

When I highlight a name on the list and type some characters of the name I
want, the name I want seems to appear before I finish typing it. This is
<much better> than the method Paul endorses using the "Name contains" box.

I do not seem to have any delay when I double-click a name once found to
open up the full contact card.
