Thanks for all the thoughts on this question. The script I have been trying
is "Transfer to Archive (Entourage)". The problem seems related to the date
or time data. The script runs but doesn't transfer anything according to
the progress bar that just shows "0" for an extended period. When I quit
the message says that it cannot get dateRec. When quitting that message
there is another that says "Could not get data in FMPro because the variable
MessageSender is not defined. I have checked the date field formatting at
the FM end. I have also tried running the script in Script Editor but it
highlights no particular part of the script. Clearly there is something
wrong with the date time aspects somewhere along the line but I am unable to
identify what it is.
I can live with the various negatives that you identified in my workaround
and propose to give it a try. I'll keep a copy of the whole MUD file as a
backup to go back to if the process turns to custard.
